Lynn Hershman Leeson (born 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA) is one of the most important and groundbreaking media artists internationally. Over the past fifty years, she has created groundbreaking works in photography, video, film, performance, artificial intelligence, bioart, installation, and interactive and web-based media art. She has long and consistently dealt with topics that are now seen as key to the human condition of late modern society: for example, the relationship between people and technology, identity and gender, surveillance and control or the use of algorithms as a means of combating it of censorship, racism and political repression….
